Houses

To inculcate a healthy sprit of competition, students of Vidya Madir have been divided into four houses, which symbolize the school’s values. The main purpose of the house system is to promote qualities of leadership, co-operation, commitment, team spirit, self-reliance and a feeling of unity. Students from a specific house compete with other houses in a friendly competition elevating their own benchmarks.

The 4 houses are –

  • Truth
  • Honesty
  • Peace
  • Progress

Each house is led by a Captain and a Vice-Captain, who guide their respective teams in all realms and play a vital role in leading their teams to victory in all events. Participating in various inter-house competitions not only gives the students a chance to display their talent but also helps them to learn valuable lessons on team work and selfless service.

Truth

Motto – Victory lies with the truth

Colour – Blue

It symbolizes tolerance and ahimsa.

Students of this house have high morals and principles adhering to which they achieve their goals.

This house has its own distinctive character and inspires great loyalty.

Honesty

Motto – Speak with honesty, think with sincerity and act with integrity

Colour – Green

The colour is indicative of auspiciousness, happiness and growth.

This house betokens one of the strongest virtues to be adopted by all humans-honesty.
Possessing this quality, they march ahead with confidence and determination to brave challenges and be triumphant

Peace

Motto – Unite people and create peace

Colour – Yellow

Led by their belief in ahimsa and harmony, the students of this house are dynamic and determined. They are indeed proud to be a part of the house that shines with qualities of perseverance and faith.

Progress

Motto – Success is the sum of small efforts

Colour – Orange

This house is indicative of strength and courage. The students of this house are always ready, rearing to go and achieve their goals. This house signifies movement. As the name suggests, all the members are all-rounders and consistently perform well in academics and sports.

Clubs

Vidya Mandir Public School believes in an all encompassing education that not only includes the formal academic curriculum but a host of other activities including sports, life skills, and other extra-curricular activities as well. With this motive of developing the students’ personality and making them active by involving them in extra – curricular activities, we have initiated the following 7 clubs:-

Our various clubs are the very epicenter of activities and are the pride of our school. Under the guidance of able and enthusiastic teachers, our clubs serve as a platform for students to prove themselves in various fields other than academics. Each club prepares a plan of action at the beginning of the academic year.

The Maths Club introduces and develops activities that will help the learners see the relationship of Mathematics with the real world. The Mathematics club is created to sensitize children about this subject and the latest developments taking place in the field of Modern Mathematics.

It provides learners with activities such as games, puzzles, discussions, Maths Quiz competitions, exhibitions, workshops and recreative programs.

Our Science club functions with the aim of providing proper incentive and inspiration for the pursuit of scientific knowledge in a vigorous way by broadening the scientific outlook. It provides students with opportunities to improve their scientific literacy.
The science club conducts various programs like exhibitions, quiz competitions, project work, lectures, demonstrations etc.

Vidya Mandir celebrates Technology Week every year with great diligence and vigour. The week is sworn to discover the latest advancements that are done in the field of technology.

The week includes a plethora of activities like extempore, collage making, debate, poster making, project making etc. The activities have a customary topic “Advancement of Technology”.

This club is a place for language learners to use English in a casual setting. The activities of this club help the students to improve their verbal and listening skills. This club helps students hone their skills while receiving constructive feedback and participating in lively discussions. The club is a venue for bringing out the hidden literary talent of the children. Various activities like debate, group discussion, Extempore, speech, language games, Book Reading Week, Story narration etc. are conducted throughout the year which focus on building children’s confidence and comfort with English language and literature.

Environment Club enables the students to become sensitive towards environmental concerns and to tackle environmental problems. It raises the students’ awareness of environmental issues and enables them to contribute solutions to the betterment of the environment. The club seeks to aware students about personal hygiene and organizes programs to teach them how to imbibe habits and life style for minimum waste generation like ‘No to Crackers’ at the time of Diwali, making Bird House, growing medicinal plants etc.

The Health and Wellness Club modifies our behaviour towards the attainment of optimum health. To live a healthy and a long life, the core lies in eating healthy, nutritive and good food and childhood is the best time to develop a ‘Healthy Eating Habit’. The club organizes plethora of activities like debate, poster making, Nutrition Week etc. aiming to enrich students’ knowledge in the field of health.

The Cyber Club encourages students to develop their technical skills and acts as a platform for budding programmers to give wings to their aspiration. The areas of specialization of the Club include Computer Programming, Website Development, Multimedia, Presentations & Networking. Awareness about the IT world is generated through quizzes, group discussions, presentations and movies related to technology. Members also study and discuss new technological advances in IT and also gain inspiration from the success stories of pioneers in the IT world.

Cultural heritage is the legacy of physical artifacts and intangible attributes of a group or society that are inherited from past generations, maintained in the present and bestowed for the benefit of future generations. The main aim of the Heritage Club is to promote heritage education in order to understand the heritage of the world in general and India in particular. The club conducts heritage walks, quizzes and group discussions and gives knowledge about art, music, culture etc
